A DB file is a database file used on mobile devices such as Android, iOS, and Windows Phone 7 mobile phones. It is often used to store contacts and SMS information but may store any type of device or application data. DB files are commonly stored in an SQLite database format but may also be locked or encrypted so the user cannot see the data directly. When you have a database open with exclusive access, anyone else who tries to open the database receives a 'file already in use' message. Click the arrow next to the Open button and then click Open Exclusive Read-Only to open the database for read-only access. Other users can still open the database, but they are limited to read-only mode.
1st Method: Open it in another program.
When you double-click DB files, your computer attempts to open it in a program associated with DB files. If there’s no program associated with DB files on your computer, the file won’t open. To open the file, download one of the most popular programs associated with DB files such as SQL Anywhere Database, Progress Database File, or Windows Thumbnail Database.
What format is best for samsung ssd t5 mac address. Even though it's small and you will need to initiate simultaneous file transfers to see it, the performance increase is also a nice addition.Samsung just didn't reach high enough with the Portable SSD T5 to make it an amazing product.
2nd Method: Take a hint from the file type.
The DB file extension usually indicates it's under the umbrella of Game Files. However, if it’s another file type, it might not open with one of the programs listed above. Take the following steps to find the file type:
- Right-click the file.
- Click “Properties” (Windows) or “More Info” (Mac).
- Locate the file type under either “Type of File” (Windows) or “Kind” (Mac).
3rd Method: Check with the developer.
So you’ve tried using a different program, you’ve confirmed the file type, and your DB file still won’t open. Even if these methods were unsuccessful, you might still be able to reach out to a software developer for help. Use the chart below to find the developer for each of the programs mentioned above and contact them directly for assistance.

The .db file was generated by a software. Purpose of software is a wiki notebook. I believe the .db file is SQLite.
How do I extract data from the .db file so the output I get is not gibberish?
you might try this it worked for me
Hi Victoria,
Were you able to open the file using suggestions above?
Aibek
I believe you can use Base included with Libre Office to open database files. Here is a link:
Hi Victoria - I believe Microsoft Excel is able to open the databases, try right clicking and select open with -> Excel, or open directly from within Excel.
Bear in mind, the data in the database may not be as you expect, though it depends on the software you used. Most likely there is a column for wiki contents with each record pertaining to a different wiki page, probably formatted as wiki code or HTML. You may have many copies of the same page too, each a different 'revision' as the page was updated. It will take a long time to get at the data you want, I think.
Perhaps it would be better to reinstall the software you originally used, and look for an 'export' option - it is possible it will let you output a bunch of PDF files, or HTML files, or something more humanly readable than a DB.
Hope that helps.
I assume that your SQL database is in .rar/.zip/.tar format and you're trying to extract it and insert it to a database. You can just upload it to your server and tell your host to do it by telling them to extract it and insert to the database you intended to. If you're using direct admin your backup file will probably appears without any extension. Same as above, upload, tell your host to do the dirty work.
